Ultrasound technology and subsystems developer Cephasonics is entering the ultrasound research market with the introduction of the cQuest Griffin and cQuest Firebird research scanners.
The cQuest Griffin research system includes Nx128-channel transmitter modules that include delay and pulsing circuitry for each channel, Nx128-channel receiver modules that include analog-to-digital conversion circuitry, and Nx128-channel digital signal processing (DSP) modules with demodulation, filtering, and optional decimation.
The cQuest Firebird is a compact 64-channel baseline system that features analog front-end circuitry, parameterized beam-formation circuitry for both transmit and receive, ultrasound-specific high-voltage power supplies, optional midprocessing functions, and multiplexed probe interfaces.
Both systems are available for order. Deliveries of cQuest Firebird are anticipated for the second quarter, while deliveries of cQuest Griffin are expected for some time this year.
