Ultrasound acoustic measurement and testing firm Acertara Acoustic Laboratories has launched its Aureon ultrasound acoustic dose analysis and field mapping system.
Aureon is intended for use in hospital medical physics and biomedical labs, as well as ultrasound research and regulatory agency labs.
By directly capturing and measuring the acoustic energy present at the aperture of an ultrasound probe being tested, Aureon can detect variations in emitted acoustic power, including that of a single element in a large multielement array.
Aureon can test any commercially available diagnostic ultrasound transducer, according to the Longmont, CO-based company.
In June, Acertara will formally introduce Aureon at next month's annual meeting of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation in Long Beach, CA.
