Dear Ultrasound Insider,
A few years ago, sonographer Doug Wuebben feared he would have to change careers. Faced with constant and near-debilitating shoulder pain, he thought his body simply wouldn't hold up much longer to the physical demands of his job.
But that all changed after Wuebben began a movement training program provided by Mark Roozen, a National Football League strength coach. Thanks to that program, Wuebben now scans without pain.
In a new contribution for AuntMinnie.com, Wuebben shares Roozen's movement training exercises, which can help improve back, hip, and shoulder pain. Instead of relying on traditional strength training exercises that focus on one individual muscle, Roozen has focused on the use of multidirectional exercises. This approach works multiple body segments at the same time, with the goal of having the body function better as a whole unit.

Also in this edition of the Insider, Dr. Jason Birnholz returns with Part 11 of his Practice of Ultrasound series, in which he delves into lymphatics and the power of intuition. Click here to read why using a finely honed sense of intuition can help deal with cases that might seem entirely different, but which actually stem from the same branchlet of the pathophysiologic tree.
