Misonix reports Q2 revenue increase

Therapeutic ultrasound vendor Misonix reported a revenue increase in its second quarter of 2014 due to higher sales of its BoneScalpel, SonicOne, and SonaStar products.

Net sales for the period (end-December 31) increased 19% to $4.1 million, compared with $3.5 million in the same quarter of 2013. The company attributed the growth to a 31% increase in BoneScalpel revenue, a 13% increase in SonaStar revenue, and a 1% increase in SonicOne revenue.

Misonix's net income for the quarter was $459,000, compared with a net loss of $654,000 in the second quarter of last year.

Six month revenue for 2014 was $7.2 million, an 11% decrease from the $8 million reported for the same period in fiscal 2013.
