Australian sonographer charged with selling fake US pics

The owner of a Western Australian imaging practice has been charged with breaching Australian Consumer Law for allegedly selling fake fetal ultrasound images to pregnant women, according to an article published online by ABC.

Following an investigation that began in February by the government of Western Australia's consumer protection unit, Amazing 4D Ultrasound Imaging of Bunbury is facing multiple charges of making false and misleading representations to consumers, according to the article.

The consumer protection unit had received 76 written complaints from women who discovered they had received identical ultrasound images from Amazing 4D after they had shared the photos on Facebook. Bunbury Magistrates Court will take up the case on January 12.
