Siemens Healthcare is introducing its handheld Acuson P500 ultrasound scanner, Frosk edition, at this year's American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) meeting being held October 26-29 in Boston.
The scanner comes in a compact notebook format of 15 inches (38 cm) and is equipped with a battery that offers up to 60 minutes of scanning time, as well as a rapid boot-up feature that makes the system ready for scanning in less than 30 seconds. It also has a touchscreen display with infrared technology and a dual-interface control panel, Siemens said.
Siemens first unveiled P500 Frosk to the European market at the 2015 European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in March.
