Clarius unveils smartphone ultrasound scanner for vets

Ultrasound technology start-up Clarius Mobile Health has debuted C7, a new wireless smartphone-powered ultrasound scanner designed for use by veterinarians.

Suitable for point-of-care veterinary ultrasound imaging, the DICOM-compliant wireless scanner can scan most animals seen in small-animal clinics, according to the vendor. Images produced by C7 can be stored, managed, and shared for professional review using the Clarius Cloud network, Clarius said.

The company said that C7 includes automated settings and features aimed at making the system easy for veterinarians with basic ultrasound scanning skills to learn and use. C7 is also water-resistant and powered by a rechargeable battery.
