SonoSim teams with Elsevier for ultrasound training

Ultrasound education firm SonoSim has joined forces with medical publisher and information analytics firm Elsevier to train nurses in North America on the use of ultrasound.

The agreement aims to accelerate the adoption of bedside ultrasound, while enabling nurses to make better and faster care decisions and avoid errors at the point of care through comprehensive evidence-based ultrasound content, the companies said. SonoSim offers ultrasound educational content to teach nurses to evaluate many commonly seen conditions in a noninvasive way.

For its part, Elsevier said it is focused on helping customers improve clinical outcomes. The joint agreement enables it to provide nurses with a comprehensive suite of ultrasound educational materials that will improve patient care, the firm said.

In all, the SonoSim ultrasound library powered by Elsevier will include 58 SonoSim lessons, with topics such as anatomy and physiology and advanced clinical and ultrasound-guided procedures.
