Samsung Medison, an affiliate of Samsung Electronics, has introduced RS85, a new ultrasound scanner.
RS85 features MV-Flow technology, which detects blood flow in microvascular tissues, and S-Shearwave Imaging, which provides new indicators for clinical diagnosis by quantifying the elasticity of human anatomy via shear-wave elastography.
The scanner is also equipped with Samsung's CEUS+ contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) technology for diagnosing blood flow issues or lesions. An S-Fusion function extends analysis to the prostate gland and also allows coordination and simultaneous comparative analysis of images and sonograms from other modalities such as MRI and CT, according to the firm.
RS85 also has a monitor arm that can reach even wider areas than other Samsung systems, and it has a touchscreen for easier control of the device.
RS85 will be available in South Korea and Europe this month, with more markets to follow, Samsung said.
