South Korean ultrasound technology developer Healcerion has introduced its Sonon 300L portable wireless ultrasound scanner to the U.S. market.

Debuted at multiple radiology conferences in 2016, the handheld diagnostic imaging device uses a paired tablet or smartphone to display ultrasound scans in an easy-to-use interface, according to the company. Its cost is estimated at less than one-tenth that of traditional ultrasound machines.
Its various features include a rechargeable battery with three-hour battery life, Wi-Fi connectivity, and DICOM and PACS compatibility.
