South Korean ultrasound technology developer Healcerion has unveiled Sonon 300L, the latest version of its portable wireless ultrasound system that runs on mobile devices.
Compatible with all types of mobile devices, Sonon 300L is suitable for a wide range of clinical applications, including thyroid, breast, carotid, lung, vascular, musculoskeletal, and ultrasound-guided procedures, Healcerion said.
Sonon 300L features color Doppler functionality, a white speckle reduction imaging filter, digital beamforming, and digital scan conversion technologies based on graphics processing units (GPUs), according to the vendor. It can use Wi-Fi, 3G, and LTE networks to send still images and video to other mobile devices or between hospitals, Healcerion said.
The system is DICOM-compliant and can provide imaging in multiple frequencies: 5, 7.5, or 10 MHz, the company said. Healcerion will showcase Sonon 300L this month at the Medica 2016 conference in Düsseldorf, Germany, and at RSNA 2016 in Chicago. It will also exhibit the system at Arab Health in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in February 2017.
