Mindray highlights Resona 7 upgrades

Mindray Medical International is featuring upgrades to its Resona 7 ultrasound system at this week's Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) annual meeting in San Antonio.

Based on the company's Zone Sonography technology (ZST), the upgrades include Mindray's software tool for radiofrequency data-based quantitative analysis on vessel stiffness (R-VQS).

Pulse wave velocity and stiffness coefficient are the two current methods used to quantify arterial stiffness. Using channel domain data, R-VQS calculates pulse wave velocity and arterial stiffness by automatically tracking the movement and diameter of intimal surfaces over six cardiac cycles, according to the vendor. The data are then combined with manual blood pressure information to produce a quantifiable report, the company said.
