Dear Ultrasound Insider,
Studies suggest that radiologists' market share of musculoskeletal ultrasound has dropped from 65% to 37% over the past decade. The question is, why?
It could be because radiology residency programs aren't providing the necessary training in ultrasound, while other specialties are, according to researchers from the University of Pennsylvania. A team led by Dr. Netanel Berko believes the solution could be as simple as establishing peer-led training in musculoskeletal imaging that includes both lecture-style and hands-on learning.
