Siemens Healthineers plans to highlight its new Acuson AcuNav Volume intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) catheter at the upcoming 2018 Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) annual meeting in San Diego.
The device is available on the company's Acuson SC2000 Prime ultrasound system. It features a 90° x 50° field-of-view and helps clinicians visualize the heart valves during repair or replacement procedures, Siemens said. Acuson AcuNav Volume ICE enables a more flexible approach to patient sedation as well, allowing physicians to use conscious sedation rather than general anesthesia.
Siemens also plans to sponsor interventional and endovascular training sessions at the meeting, according to the firm.
