Handheld-ultrasound technology developer Clarius Mobile Health is unveiling its EC7 endocavity ultrasound scanner at this week's American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) annual meeting in Denver.
Designed for gynecologic and urologic procedures, the wide-band microconvex array is compatible with Android- and iOS-powered mobile devices and includes free cloud storage, according to the vendor. EC7's app interface includes specialty preset applications for in vitro fertilization, obstetrics, and pelvic examinations.
The system can scan for up to 60 minutes on a single battery and includes a waterproof case that's compatible with most standard cleaning and sterilization products, the firm said. It has received regulatory clearance in the U.S., Canada, and Europe; approval is pending in other countries, according to Clarius.
