Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas has debuted Sonimage HS2, a compact ultrasound system with functionality optimized for point-of-care environments.
HS2 features advanced image clarity and simplified operation for musculoskeletal, vascular, pain management, interventional, and orthobiologics applications. It is compatible with Konica's wide-bandwidth K18-4 probe for improved fine-detail image quality and contrast resolution.
The system includes capabilities for needle guidance and blood-flow imaging. The scanner's needle visualization software enables enhanced needle guidance, while its high resolution and fast frame rate allow for clearer visualization of small vessels and slow blood flow.
In addition, Sonimage HS2 includes features to improve deep tissue imaging. An algorithm transmits two waveforms depending on the focal length for high signal intensity, and tissue harmonics technology suppresses acoustic noise and increases frequency and sensitivity for both deep-tissue and superficial imaging.
The system also features a wide-view touchscreen monitor that can be configured to full screen for easier viewing during interventions. Clinicians can also use the display to annotate and draw lines, notes, or figures, which can be saved for documentation and reporting purposes.
In other Konica Minolta news, the company has begun selling its Exa Enterprise software in Latin America. The company's first installation is with Centro Rossi, an imaging services provider in Argentina with 13 locations.
Konica Minolta has also announced a distribution agreement with Habitat Evolution to sell Exa Enterprise Imaging throughout Argentina.
