French ultrasound technology developer Echosens announced it has launched SmartExam, an upgrade to its FibroScan product, a noninvasive diagnostic tool for measuring liver fat and stiffness.
The upgrade improves the accuracy, specificity, and reliability of FibroScan, the company stated.
FibroScan is a five-minute test that can be performed at the point of care to help physicians detect, monitor, and prevent liver disease in asymptomatic individuals who may be at high risk. By 2030, approximately 357 million people worldwide will develop nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, according to the company.
