Dear Women's Imaging Insider,
For women who have endometriosis -- and end up with cysts in their ovaries -- finding a way to treat them that doesn't compromise their fertility can be a challenge. Surgery has long been the standard treatment, but it can remove healthy ovarian tissue along with the cyst.
Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy is an alternative to surgery, but it is often conducted using needles, which may not be able to effectively aspirate endometriomas. That's why South Korean researchers have developed a new technique that uses a catheter instead. Learn more about the approach in our Insider Exclusive.
