X-ray and bone densitometry vendor Hologic has promoted senior vice president and Lorad president John Cumming to president, CEO, and director. In his new role as CEO, Cumming will replace Dr. Jay Stein, who served as interim CEO and chairman following the passing of David Ellenbogen last month. Stein will remain on as chairman and as chief technology officer, a post he held prior to the interim CEO position.
Cumming will also assume the president position from president and COO Steve Nakashige, who has resigned to pursue other business opportunities, according to the Bedford, MA-based vendor. To replace Cumming as president at Hologic's Lorad division, Hologic has hired Peter Kershaw as general manager. Kershaw was the former president of Bespak's Medical Device division.
