Bone densitometry and digital x-ray provider Hologic reported fiscal third quarter revenues of $44.9 million, more than double the $22.1 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-June 30), the Bedford, MA-based vendor had a net loss of $1.2 million, compared with a net loss of $2.6 million in the 2000 fiscal third quarter (end-July 1).
Of the revenue gain, $20.7 million was received from the Trex mammography and general radiography systems units Hologic acquired in September 2000. Absent nonrecurring and restructuring items incurred in the quarter, however, Hologic would have reported a pro forma net loss of $6.0 million.
