CAD firm R2 files for IPO

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer R2 Technology is planning to go public. The Los Altos, CA, company this week announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering.

R2 did not indicate in the announcement how much money it planned to raise. Proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, including working capital, R&D, sales and marketing, clinical and regulatory studies, and capital expenditures. A portion of the proceeds could also be used for acquisition or investment in businesses or technologies that are complementary to R2’s, the company said.
