ImageTool introduces mammography CAD system

German PACS firm ImageTool has developed IT-Insight, an integrated computer-aided detection (CAD) and mammography workstation. IT-Insight, which is not yet available in the U.S., supports digital as well as film mammography systems, according to Berlin-based ImageTool.

IT-Insight is suitable for screening and diagnostic mammograms, and incorporates wavelet-based image analysis algorithms to enhance microcalcifications, according to the vendor. ImageTool said that the inclusion of image compression technology allows for telemammography.
