Mammography pad developer BioLucent is launching a new fee-per-use program at imaging centers that will benefit the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO).
Under the program, participating imaging centers will sell BioLucent’s Woman's Touch MammoPad for $5 per pad to women receiving scheduled mammograms. The pad is designed to make mammography more comfortable by adding a radiolucent cushion to a mammography system’s compression plates.
For every MammoPad sold under the program, BioLucent will make a donation to NABCO. There are about a dozen mammography centers currently participating in a pilot version of the program, a BioLucent spokesperson said.
