Computer-aided-detection (CAD) developer R2 Technology has introduced new software features for its ImageChecker CAD system and CheckMate Ultra display unit.
The ImageChecker release incorporates automatic patient identification for sites utilizing a paper printout of CAD marks. The feature allows the unit to automatically capture the patient ID and display it on the paper printout, optimizing workflow and record keeping with no additional data entry, according to the Los Altos, CA-based firm.
The CheckMate Ultra upgrades include PeerView, which provides radiologists with display of a high-resolution image of a region of interest identified by the CAD algorithm. Other PeerView features include patient identification for paper printout, and a usage report for audit purposes.
In other news, the company reported that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new claim regarding ImageChecker’s clinical performance. Representing R2 Technology’s 14th supplement approved by the FDA, the claim states that use of the ImageChecker system on screening mammograms led to a clinically significant reduction in missed cancers (false negatives) of at least 33.6%.
