Computer-aided detection firm R2 Technology of Sunnyvale, CA, and Siemens Medical Solutions have signed a development and license agreement. The firms will customize and market CAD technology for use with Siemens' computed radiography and full-field digital mammography (FFDM) equipment.
Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens will have sole worldwide distribution rights for three years to its CR-based and flat-panel detector-based FFDM systems integrated with R2's CAD technology. The integrated devices will require Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for use in the U.S., the vendors said.
