The rush is on for computer-assisted mammography developers to partner with major digital mammography vendors, as iCAD announced pacts with both Fischer Imaging and Instrumentarium Imaging.
Denver, CO-based Fischer and iCAD of Boca Raton, FL, said at this week’s RSNA meeting that they have entered into a development and marketing agreement to provide CAD capability to the Fischer SenoScan TrueView digital mammography system.
iCAD followed that news with an announcement it had signed a similar agreement with Instrumentarium Imaging, whose U.S. headquarters are in Milwaukee. In both cases the contracting companies agreed to work together to secure U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration approval of the systems’ combinations.
