Breast cancer screening highlighted in oncology journal

The latest issue of Current Oncology Reports features several articles on breast cancer imaging (January 2003, Vol.5:1).

Dr. Lina Romero and colleagues from the Harbor-UCLA Research and Educational Institute in Torrance, CA, discuss the applications of scintimammography in breast cancer diagnosis, specifically its ability to evaluate indeterminate lesions.

Dr. William Dooley from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City reviews ductal-based screening through nipple aspiration and lavage, as well as ductal exploration through endoscopy.

Also, Dr. Betty Mincey from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, offers insight on women with breast cancer and their increased risk for osteoporosis. She summarizes strategies for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in this population.
