Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has begun U.S. shipments of a new diagnostic mammography workstation.
MammoDiagnost VU is a standalone mammography workstation that enables multivendor and multimodality image management and integration. The workstation is designed to streamline labor-intensive steps, and it offers automatic breast tissue alignment for images acquired from computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems from any vendor.
Other features of MammoDiagnost VU include an overview of relevant patient history through a graphical patient history timeline, and the display of CR and DR on the same screen. The system also enables automatic background suppression and inversion of images on a single workstation.
MammoDiagnost VU can be used as standalone workstation and is compatible with Philips modality and PACS software products. It can also function as a front-end workstation by integrating images from any vendor's modality or PACS software. The workstation has already been shipping in Europe.
