Mammo, PACS on Sectra's list of RSNA launches

Swedish PACS and digital mammography developer Sectra plans to show a range of new technologies at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.

In its PACS business, the Linköping-based vendor plans to highlight improved volume visualization functionality integrated into its reading workstation. The feature is designed to improve efficiency of reviews and communication of results.

Sectra also plans to launch a new diagnostic mammography workstation, with the platform based on the company's RapidConnect technology. The workstation includes features designed to improve efficiency, such as an ergonomic keypad and automatic hanging protocols for maximized throughput. The software also has the ability to support remote reading of large image volumes.

On the company's MicroDose Mammography full-field digital mammography system, Sectra will demonstrate enhancements designed to support high-volume screening. The company reports that customers are conducting as many as 15 four-image exams per hour. MicroDose Mammography is pending approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
