Women's healthcare vendor Hologic of Bedford, MA, has closed on its acquisition of MRI technology developer Sentinelle Medical of Toronto for $85 million.
The transaction includes a two-year contingent earn-out, which will be payable in cash installments equal to a multiple of the incremental revenue growth in Sentinelle Medical's business in the two years following the August 5 closing date.
Sentinelle Medical develops breast imaging technologies using high-field MRI for the early detection of breast cancer, in addition to developing patient tables and visualization software. In 2009, Sentinelle Medical achieved revenues of approximately $15 million.
