Dear AuntMinnie Member,
A study published this week in Radiology is adding support for digital breast tomosynthesis, according to an article in our Women's Imaging Digital Community.
Norwegian researchers studied the use of tomosynthesis in a large, population-based screening program in the country. They believe the study is one of the first to explore the impact of tomosynthesis on breast screening on such a large scale.
How did the modality perform? The researchers found that tomosynthesis in conjunction with digital mammography yielded a big increase in the detection of invasive cancers over mammography alone, while also reducing recall rates. Getting your 1st job
Trying to land your first job out of school is always a scary prospect, but it can be downright terrifying in today's job market. Fortunately, we're here to offer help for radiologists in our Residents Digital Community.
The best advice is to start looking early, preferably while you're still in residency, according to Dr. Jocelyn Chertoff from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. If you wait until your fellowship, it may be too late.

Prostate CAD
Finally, be sure to visit our Advanced Visualization Digital Community for an article on optimizing computer-aided detection (CAD) protocols for prostate imaging. Researchers found that CAD techniques performed differently depending on which area of the prostate was being examined.
