Medical furniture developer TransMotion Medical has unveiled its Mammography/Biopsy Stretcher-Chair.
Designed to accommodate seated mammography and breast biopsy procedures, the chair provides motorized patient positioning, according to the vendor. A touch of a button allows conversion from a chair to a stretcher, as well as height adjustment, TransMotion said.
A handheld pendant reclines the unit for precise patient positioning during breast biopsies. It can be set at the lowest seat height of 20 inches, and it has a 500-lb patient weight capacity. Radiology departments can also perform in-chair x-ray exams through the chair's radiolucent back section, according to the firm.
