Breast imaging software developer Volpara Solutions has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Volpara Density Map software.
The software presents the 3D quantitative volumetric data created by the company's VolparaDensity algorithm in a 2D image that is available as an additional DICOM secondary capture image, the company said. It is designed to show true breast density at true size, offering users a standardized means of visually assessing which regions of dense tissue change over time, according to Volpara.
