Women's imaging vendor Hologic has named singer, songwriter, and breast cancer survivor Sheryl Crow as a spokesperson for an initiative that will educate women about the company's Genius 3D digital breast tomosynthesis mammography exam.
Crow will be part of a campaign Hologic launched in April called the Better Mammogram Poll, which informs women about the benefits of 3D mammography and helps them find local facilities that offer Genius exams. The campaign will continue through October of this year, with Crow participating in a media tour and social media outreach, according to the firm.
Hologic also plans to donate $30,000 to Stand Up to Cancer, an Entertainment Industry Foundation program intended to help speed research on new cancer therapies, the company said. The donation is part of Hologic's goal of making 30 donations of up to $30,000 during its 30th anniversary year.
