Two breast density education groups, Are You Dense Advocacy and DenseBreast-info.org, have launched Spanish-language breast health educational resources.
Are You Dense Advocacy is collaborating with Madre Latina to distribute Early Matters: Providing Opportunities With Educational Resources for Early Detection (EMPOWERED), which includes literature and a video, the organization said.
"Our mission is clear," said Are You Dense founder Nancy Cappello, PhD, in a statement. "First, ensuring that no woman suffers the tragedy of a preventable late-stage diagnosis, and second, eliminating barriers to adjunct screening, such as ultrasound and MRI."
The Connecticut Community Foundation helped fund the outreach effort, Cappello noted.
DenseBreast-info.org is offering a breast cancer risk checklist and a patient brochure, it said.
