Strong U.S. sales helped women's imaging vendor Hologic grow revenue and profit in its fiscal 2016 (end-September 24).
For fiscal 2016, Hologic's revenues increased 5% to $2.83 billion, compared with $2.7 billion in fiscal 2015. Net income more than doubled to $330.8 million, compared with $131.6 million in the previous year.
In the fourth quarter, revenues climbed 3.4% to $726.8 million, compared with $702.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2015. U.S. sales grew 7% in the quarter to $578 million. Net income rose to $92.2 million in the fourth quarter, compared with $25.2 million in the same quarter of 2015.
Hologic is "making good progress in building a sustainable growth company, and we look forward to more successes in 2017 based on the strength of our product franchises and the dedication of our people," said Steve MacMillan, Hologic's chairman, president, and CEO, in a prepared statement.
