Week in Review: Reports from AHRA and ECR | Why people quit | Minnies nominations open

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

VIENNA - The world of radiology is truly global. That's been evident this week, with major conferences underway at locales ranging from the deserts of Arizona to the banks of the Danube River in Austria.

Things were hot in Phoenix this week -- and not just on the streets. The AHRA convened its 50th annual meeting on July 10, with tons of great presentations on radiology operations and management. For example, you'll never guess some of the reasons why people quit their jobs -- and what you can do to make them want to stay.

Also, AHRA speakers offered tips on getting imaging leadership up to speed on information technology, how to manage capital equipment assets to avoid unpleasant surprises, and how improving the patient experience is the key to quality improvement.

You'll find these stories, as well as video interviews with key opinion leaders, in our RADCast @ AHRA special section.

Coverage of ECR 2022

Just as AHRA 2022 was wrapping up, ECR 2022 was getting started. This unusual summer edition of the conference -- it usually happens in early March -- finds congress attendees rubbing elbows with tourists and residents of the City of Music at sidewalk cafes, neighborhood parks, and even a Rolling Stones concert.

Our editorial team has been busy covering the sessions, and you'll find their articles both on AuntMinnie.com and on our sister site, AuntMinnieEurope.com, where we've launched a RADCast @ ECR special section.

Highlights of the meeting have included a preview of what the breast imaging landscape might look like in Europe in 2025, a review of the COVID pandemic's impact on cancer screening, and an overview of the implementation of artificial intelligence in the Netherlands.

Be sure to check back through the weekend for more coverage of ECR 2022.
