Scottish 3-D software developer Voxar has inked a deal with PACS firm Sectra Imtec of Sweden, the companies reported at last week's RSNA meeting. Under the agreement, Sectra will incorporate Voxar's 3-D display and rendering tools into Sectra's image review workstations.
The alliance helps Voxar penetrate the European market by giving it access to sites where Sectra's workstations are installed. For Sectra, the company is now able to offer 3-D visualization tools on the same workstations used to review digital images.
In other Voxar news, the Edinburgh company introduced a new version of its Plug n View 3D software at the conference. Version 3.2 includes features like Live Images, which allows users to save, archive, and send a group of images at a certain point in time. Optimized 2-D, 3-D, multiplanar reformatted (MPR), and maximum intensity projection (MIP) views can be saved as a DICOM file and recalled later or at another location. The company has also integrated reporting features into Plug n View 3D.
A third product, Voxar Colonscreen, was also introduced at the meeting. Colonscreen allows radiologists to interpret and generate a report from CT or MR studies, typically within 10 minutes, according to the company.
