Surgical visualization developer Cbyon has signed a marketing alliance with Karl Storz to develop an interface between the Karl Storz Communication Bus and the Cbyon Suite of image-guided technologies.
Mountain View, CA-based Cbyon’s surgical systems use minimally invasive techniques for a variety of neurosurgical and spinal procedures, while Culver City, CA-based Karl Storz Endoscopy America’s OR1 platform provides centralized control of operating-room components such as surgical lights, operating-room tables, endoscopic equipment, cameras, and video systems.
The companies said integration of the two systems will allow surgeons to use touchscreen or voice activation of the Cbyon image-guided system.
