FDA clears Medis peripheral vascular software

Medis Medical Imaging Systems has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its QVA-CMS analytical software for use in quantitative analysis of vascular morphology in peripheral arteries.

The Dutch image analysis firm said the software allows researchers and clinicians to quantify medical images of peripheral arteries in an objective and reproducible way by presenting graphs with calculated data of user-selected regions of interest.

QVA-CMS follows the previously released QCA-CMS software for use in quantitative analysis of coronary angiograms.
