Fujitsu debuts DynaMO Pocket

Fujitsu Computer Products of America has debuted DynaMO Pocket with DICOM viewer, a USB-powered magneto-optical (MO) drive that includes DICOM image viewing software.

DynaMO Pocket allows for DICOM ultrasound images and data to be transported on 3.5-inch MO disks from medical imaging equipment to notebook PCs and workstations for offline review, according to the San Jose, CA-based vendor.

The drive weighs 14 ounces with a thickness of 23 mm, and its power is supplied directly through its USB 1.1 interface. The ShowCase Viewer software, contributed by Trillium Technology, provided image viewing capabilities.

Customers choosing to upgrade to Power ShowCase will gain access to a suite of image editing tools, including image de-identification tools that provide conversion of DICOM images to file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, and AVI. Users will also be able to play video clips directly in PowerPoint, according to Fujitsu.
