The Plymouth, MN, 3D software developer will demonstrate a new version of its Vitrea 3.7 workstation software, as well as software that enables physicians to access 2D, 3D, and 4D visualizations on notebook or personal computers.
Vitrea 3.7 will be shown as a work-in-progress and includes compatibility with new 64-bit computer platforms now being released. It also includes enhancements in colon imaging applications, a lung nodule probe, and cardiac function analysis. Version 3.7 has not yet been cleared by the FDA, and will be available in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2005.
ViTALConnect is a new connectivity application that Vital Images introduced earlier in 2004. It's designed to enable Vitrea users to distribute sophisticated data reconstructions to other locations in the healthcare enterprise via Web-based technology.
The company will show version 3.2 of the software, which includes integrated review of 2D, 3D, and 4D images, as well as advanced MPR and slab MIP views such as oblique, double oblique, and curved MPR. ViTALConnect also includes interactive 3D and 4D volume rendering, as well as a collaboration mode that allows radiologists to consult with clinicians remotely by interactive and synchronized viewing of images and mouse movements.
The software runs as a thin client on standard PCs with operating systems including Windows 2000 and higher. It has FDA clearance and is available in the U.S.
