Medicsight, Viatronix partner

Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer Medicsight of London and 3D software developer Viatronix have signed a nonexclusive partnership agreement.

Medicsight's ColonCAD API and LungCAD API products will be incorporated into the Stony Brook, NY-based firm's V3D medical imaging workstations. Current and new users of Viatronix's V3D-Colon and V3D-Explorer modules will be able to add the software tools, Viatronix said.

As a result, users will be able to interactively view ColonCAD polyp identification marks or LungCAD lung nodule identification marks while viewing a virtual fly-through of the colon or viewing 3D CT lung images using real-time volume rendering, according to the firms. The combined package is scheduled to be available in the fourth quarter of 2005.
