Quantitative Imaging of San Bruno, CA, will guide visitors to its RSNA booth to PolypPoint, computer-aided detection (CAD) software for virtual colonoscopy.
PolypPoint identifies regions of interest in the colon that can then be examined in more detail in the virtual colonoscopy application. The software calculates potential ROI size, shape, and density characteristics. The software can create HTML reports that list regions of interest requiring further physician review.
The company expects 510(k) clearance for PolypPoint by the end of 2005, with U.S. shipments beginning at about the same time. The software should be available in the rest of the world by the second quarter of 2006.
