True Life Anatomy (TLA) will make its RSNA debut, showing its True Life Anatomy surface-shading 3D software as a work-in-progress.
TLA believes its software is complementary to volumetric 3D software, particularly for orthopedic applications like surgical planning, arthroplasty templating, measurement, and quantitative analysis of dynamic injury patterns. CT and MRI data from TLA reconstructions can be shared with referring physicians and patients, and can be manipulated to conduct what TLA calls "virtual surgeries."
The software is pending FDA clearance in the U.S. but has been available in the rest of the world since November 2004.
