VIENNA - Advanced visualization firm Setred of Oslo, Norway, is launching a new package of 3D holographic technology at this week's European Congress of Radiology (ECR).
The company has introduced its Setred MD20-30 display and Samurai 3D software, which work together to create digital holograms that can be viewed without the use of special glasses. MD20-30 is a 20-inch display that acts as a digital hologram, while Samurai 3D is interactive software that works with DICOM-compatible datasets such as CT, MRI, PET, 3D angiography, and 3D ultrasound.
Setred believes the software will be useful for radiology, interventional radiology, cardiology, and neurosurgical applications. The package is being launched commercially after undergoing testing at the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) at Linköping University in Sweden and Rikshospitalet in Oslo.
