Medical imaging software developer Nephosity has been issued a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
U.S. patent No. 8,773,463 covers Nephosity technology that allows real-time, streamed viewing of full-resolution DICOM images and simultaneous shared viewing between two or more collaborators. Viewing large-format images (such as digital x-rays) on mobile devices with limited hardware capabilities is also possible, Nephosity said.
The patent is part of Jack Imaging, Nephosity's HIPAA-compliant software platform, which includes a 510(k)-cleared iPad medical image viewer, the firm said.
