TeraRecon appoints CEO, opens R&D facility

Advanced visualization firm TeraRecon has promoted Jeff Sorenson to CEO, added two new executive leadership positions, and opened a new research and development (R&D) facility in North Carolina.

Sorenson joined TeraRecon in 2004 and was named president in 2015. He will continue to serve as president in addition to holding the CEO position.

In other executive news, Dave MacCutcheon was appointed vice president of product management and Pratik Nanavati was appointed vice president of software development. Walter Müller is now the general manager of TeraRecon EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). He is based out of the company's Frankfurt, Germany, office and his appointment is an extension of new growth initiatives into the EMEA region, TeraRecon said.

The new research and development space in Durham, NC, will provide for an expansion of the company's sales and customer support teams.
