Cloud-based 3D printing provider WhiteClouds and advanced visualization firm TeraRecon have launched 3DyourScan, a service that produces life-sized 3D-printed color models from patient MRI or CT scans, with the goal of improving collaboration and education between physicians and patients.
The technology includes White Clouds' "hinge and slice" feature to provide highly detailed patient-specific models for surgeon collaboration and patient education, WhiteClouds said.
Through this partnership, clinicians will be able to print patient models directly from TeraRecon software, with installations in more than 4,000 locations worldwide. The product offers 3D printing and cloud-based 3D reconstruction that is seamless, the company said.
