Big-data visualization software developer Zebra Medical Vision said it will soon release a new algorithm for detecting compression and other vertebral fractures.
The Zebra vertebral compression fracture (VCF) algorithm is the latest to be added to the company's deep learning-based Imaging Analytics platform. The algorithm automatically detects and localizes compression fractures, and it uses deep learning to differentiate between compression fractures and the more common degenerative endplate changes and osteophytes, Zebra said.
Once released commercially, the algorithm will be offered as part of Zebra's Imaging Analytics engine for care providers, as well as on the firm's Profound platform for patients to upload their imaging scans and receive automated insights on their imaging data.
